What do you think of it, Neb? Better than BF2? I've barely just started 2142 online, but what I've seen so far - I like. Not sure if the reduction in the number of character classes was a good idea. Some of the number of unlocks on kits seems a bit daft - almost like a one-man army....

Looks ripe to have plenty of expansion packs though....

I've just reinstalled bf2, will reinstall 2142 if bf2 runs ok the pc

Bf2 is better by far imo.....2142 is boring, too easy to snipe and the fact that there are fewer classes with more stuff means picking a kit isnt as important

That still has the best FPS maps of any game, imo. El Alamein and Tobruk are true classics....

I agree. But there seems to be a lot less 'randomness' within 2142 from what I've seen so far. You're right, the sniping is p1ss easy in 2142, which I don't actually think is a bad thing. I spent a good hour or two on both BF2 and BF2142 last weekend and while I did better points-wise on BF2, the game frustrated me more.

It appears that they've nerfed the MEC support in the v1.41 patch from what I was told by several players, but I haven't tried that myself yet. I was certainly nailed from stupid ranges with one, more than once! 2142 seems more balanced and tends to promote the squad-based idea that we've been after for ages. BF2's squad function doesn't work in-game as well as 2142, I think?
