for people with pipercross on their 1.2’s

Hey all,

For people who have brought a viper pipercross induction kit for their 1.2, have you notice any real improvement? I know it suppose to increase HP by 9-10 but do you actually feel this?

Any opinions appreciated. Thanks

you wont get that improvement out of the viper on a 1.2 fella

172 loony, what HP would a 1.216v get increased by from the viper pipercoss kit?

Come on 1.2 owners what increases have you gotten from your kit??

Has

  RS 182 - Black Gold

chris has a viper on his 1.2 16v

may want to PM him or see if he notices this threat

oops i mean thread

Lol

probably no noticable difference in bhp tbh on a 1.2 youll get nicer sound but no major power hike. look at it this way people with 172s have seen 10bhp or less improvement so i figures that a 1.2 will see less again.

yeah no point IMO ive got the relocation kit and exhaust both from k-tec and got 86bhp on the rollers (11bhp up on std)

Thanks for your reply guys, yeah just thought the viper kit is just so expensive and was wondering what possible power gains could one get. Fred2001 Dynamic, what is your 0-60 time?.....is your exhaust a full system?...i have just a scoprion back box and k-tec induction kit, er havent tested it on rollers but what BHP do you think I have lol...maybe 80??

0-60 is somewhere mid 11s same as mine was

to be honest, you will only have 80bhp, at most

the viper is so expensive because they claim it has had x number of hours research, is a carbon fibre product and they have open induction kits to sell at the botom end of the market, as for gain, on the 1.2 16v, its arguable what sort of gains you will be looking at but 3 or 4bhp is a realistic guess once the fuelling is sorted out

my clio when i had it, 0-100 35 seconds, 0-60 11.49 seconds, 127mph (indicated) top speed 1/4 mile 18.062 @ 74.?? mph with exactly the same kit as fred fitted

that would be me ;) well its now fred because mine is no more

faster than freds by 0.007seconds over the 1/4 mile

mods were pipercross s-spec IK on k-tec relocation pipe, full k-tec exhaust, and thats it

hi lads i have done a 11.2 0-60 and all i have is the viper kit, exhaust coming soon... if u get the right cold air spot u will get better power gains. im 81bhp on the rollers now.

how was this timed? and do you have any figures to support?

reason i know the times is ive still got my timing slips from york, which has all the info required for me (pass through the 1/8mile ET @ 60mph)

that is a fast time for a 1.216v. guess it all depends really! hmm I am at the point where I think I will stop because as everyone says it is just a 1.216v at the end of the day!..lol didnt mean to offend all 1.2 owners.

i timed it on a flat road with, my car was preped with timing equiptment that i borrowed from a mate. to do this time though i removed the spare and rear seats.

I had a viper on my 1.2 16v. A dyno run showd a 4bhp increase in the mid range (4K) and jack all at the top. It also showd that the car was running more rich at the top end.

Driving wise you do notice the increase in the mid range but dont expect to drop seconds off the 0-60. It wont. Maybe 1/2sec.

My advice. Put the £250 in the bank and start saving for a 1.4 16v.

Yeah at the end of the day I dont expect miracles from my little 1.216v. I wouldnt buy a 1.4 16v either, no offence would want something a lot faster! Would want to get a GTi of some sort next ;)

how much for clio dynamique?....I have a K-tec induction kit already, might not want to get a another kit so soon...unless for a good price!

Rob I have done the following to my car:

Exterior Mods:
K-Tec silver front grill
Silver vision bulbs for front headlights
Clear side repeaters
16v badge professionally sprayed silver
Lexus lights
Renault double spoiler with brake light
Renault anti theft caps
Richbrook bee sting ariel

Interior Mods:
Richbrook gear knob
Richbrook gear gaiter
Richbrook gear surround
Directed 6x9 speakers with parcel shelf
Panasonic MD player

Engine Mods:
K-tec induction kit
Scorpian back box

I know this probably doesnt sound like much but its cost me well over 1k. Getting wheels, bodykit and suspension looking about another 1k. PLus I have to pay for insurance too. :confused:I just sometimes think enough is enough when its just a 1.216v...what do you guys think?

I agree you can only go so far with things when you have a small engine, unless that is your bolting a turbocharger to it. :D

Would like to see some pics of the gear gaitor.

yup ok I will try to take a few pics and post them maybe later ok. Its just a silver Richbrook gear gaiter, looks kinda flash I suppose ;)
