Foreign Engine in a clio ?

IS it possible to take ANY engine from another car, respecting the size limits, and shove it in my valver ? i know poeple have taken mitsubishi 3.0 16v engines and banged it in their clios along with the gears too. But if i went down to the scrap0 yeard and bought a peice of s**t with a big 2.5 engine in it could i shove it in my clio lol ?

But, seriously, there's not a lot of width across the Clio's engine bay. There's be a problem fitting most engines that are better than the standard one in. There isn't even the room to fit the Nissan 6-speed gearbox from the 197 in to replace the crappy standard gearbox. So, sure, there's probably something that's fit, the question is what.

And if you were going to go to the huge amount of trouble it'd take would you better off starting with something better than a Clio. Is the Clio especially light or especially good handling or anything else that makes it a good start of an engine swap?

Any engine can go in any car also long as it fits and you've got the time/knowhow/inclination.

k. i dont want to. i was just wondering. why anyone would want to get a mitsubishi engine and shove it in theire old clio i have no idea. apart from that making the car a street sleeper but ffs id rarther have a 172.
