Found a button in glove box? Now lights won't work?!

Might be just me I have no idea what's going off, car was fine till I found some sort of switch in the glove box of the 182. Now my dash lights aren't working and? Wtf.

1 Main beam out.
dash lights not on but warning lights are, e.g cruise control.
rear light out and number plate light out.

You say switch, I say climate controlled glovebox.

Coincidence. Fault is probably an earth or one of the fuses gone. Left and right are on separate fuses

switch may be for glovebox light other wise

When I had this fault on my first 172 7-8 years ago the UCh had given in.

Knocked one of the relays out under the glove box I bet

looks like that just get your head under there and push them back in

Anyway, the lights being out is probably a relay under the glovebox in the footwell that's loose or been knocked out. No idea what switch you're on about. One main beam bulb is probably a coincidence.
