I was sure I'd read on here that std struts fit '02 clio sports - my mech (who's tried to fit them today) says not..

Is this true?

paid out on.. wrong struts (£45) + [mates] labour..

As in from a non-sport Clio?

No, they don't fit.

Different bolt spacing where it meets the hub.

52mm + 58mm are non sport and 54mm + 60mm are sport bolt spacings.
