Free HPI?

  Mk1 Clio 1.4 RT
Hi,

I purchased my clio a few days ago and I took his word that its HPI cleared. I looked back on the MOT and the registration has been changed (the retention letter shows this). Now am abit worried. I called the guy I got it from and he said it hasn't been in any major accidents.

Can anyone do me a free HPI clear at all?

cheapest online hpi i've found is a tenner. unless someone here is "in the business" and decides to take u under their wing ;)

if the MOT reg no has been changed then it is likely that the car had a current
MOT when the transfer p/plate was put on, however they cannot doctor the originla number they write on the top of the existing certificate that the number has been transferred and what too............

Who is that with?

I don't see why people begrudge paying money for a HPI check tbh :S (or is that people want something for nothing these days;) ) sure it costs £45 (or so) but it'll tell you everything - cheaper one's don't cover everything
I always get my cars checked before I buy them, I even have one for a Fiesta RS turbo I came close to buying once :rasp:
