key or the the code reader around the barrel, had this on my 172, used the the spare key, problem solved. try using your spare key. if it still does it then its the code reader around the barrel

if it were the TDC sensor surely the car would still turn over rather than click?

My Mrs 182 wouldn't start last week, it turned over but would not fire up so i changed the coilpack at first but turned out the TDC needed a good wipe.

TDC is always a great place to start, rules something out if nothing else.

if it was an immobiliser fault the red light would be on constant or flashing quickly.

Im fairly confident its actually the battery now, cd player wont stay on, lights dim.

Tried to jumpstart with one of them pack things but just wouldnt go, dont think it had enough charge.

Batterys gonna be put on charge and hopefully be ok.
