You certainly are an inspiration. I'm going to refurbish my speedlines myself now. I bought a wire brush!
Seriously though - good work. I want to tidy my engine up now.
The laquer is properly peeling off in big chunks, you can literally pull big bits of it off, I was going to use it to get rid of that. Still a bad idea?
Great build, I would replace those cable ties with proper metal clips on the CV gators though as they will weep.
Did you repack the grease on the drive shaft elbow too?
OK, cheers. Will do :approve:yes . It will scar the soft alloy to much. Just use a palm sander mate and some elbow grease
OK, cheers. Will do :approve:

You need to use primer first. That looks mint. Some lovely refurbing you've done there mate.
How did you do the rear interior, with a spray paint or brush? I recently got some spray paint but when trying it it came out awful so had to wipe it all off quicly. The paint was too runny and didn't stick at all.
You need to use primer first.
I've been messing about with cans for a few months now and have pretty much got it nailed.
I usually just do a few light coats of primer till its one solid grey colour, some people sand between coats but I tend not too and then do the same with your chosen colour. The tricky part can be the lacquering and the trick is to have the paint in some good light so you can see how shiny it is becoming.
To avoid runs just don't spray too close or apply too much at a time. I did some spraying today and I find impatience is what causes F ups! Earlier a gust if wind caught the kitchen towel I had my badges drying on and got it stuck to them which meant rubbing everything off and starting from scratch!
Just read this thread from the start and am astonished with how well its turned out. Love the attention to detail.
Hope your new born is healthy and not keeping you awake all night.
