front brake discs and pads!?

the garage have just rung me up sayin along with my engine rebuild theyve just finished, it also needs new front discs and pads.
they said its going to be around about an extra £195 fitted (genuine renault parts)
but isnt there a specific brake pad what everyone advises using on here ,and im guessing they arent renault standard parts? couldnt think for the life of me what they were when i was on the phone to the garage. cheers

thought they might of been. cool . are they a fair wack more than the standard ones the garage aim to supply, because upto now my bil including the brakes is around £1500 and thats before its been through the MOT ... :dapprove:
