Hello, ive had front pads fitted on thursday (16.06.11) and they are making a noise,it sound like they are rubbing? Is this common and will it eventually cease once they are settled in?

Alright fred, its like a rubbing noise, when i go faster it gets louder and obviosly stops when i am crawling?,also had the cv gaiters done could it be these?

Apparently its the wheel bearing starting to go?,thats what the garage says.If anyone is thinking of getting a phase 1 consider the parts that will start to go wrong first, after that it`ll be a blast to drive.

sounds like youve beem done mate, if it wasnt happening before you got the work done. theyve probably upset the bearing somehow when they done the gaiters.....

Thats what i was afraid of but its my local and if i go anywhere else i wont be able to afford the work done,he`s quoted me £60 for the bearings.

you need to get yourself a ''friend in the know'' me thinks. theres surely someone on here that would do work for you. pads and gaiters arent exactly rocket science.

If anyone reads this and are local-ish to walsall, for some asda money i`ll be happy with their assistance in these matters.,cheers for the advice nathan182:approve:

I cant afford it being done at the mo...just paid insurance and got tax next week so it`ll just have to get worse before i can deal with it...:D
