Front camber - vmaxx bolts

Hola,
The vmaxx front struts are using oem strut bolts.
Has anyone used after market camber bolts and which ones?

I don't think either will work, because of the elongated top hole. So no matter what you turned the bolt too, the shock wouldn't follow. Bolt would just sit slightly further forward, backward in the hole not actually moving the strut.
Could be wrong though.
I just used my standard bolts and just did it by eye, as to where the nut sat in the elongated hole.

Thanks for the info bud.
Pics of your camber setup?

If your strut has an elongated hole, then camber bolts do not do the job and will also move.

You will have to use the standard bolt for a good job.

bit of a sweeping statement, the eccentric washer design is quite good when it's used right, I hate the eccentric bolt design. I quite like a slotted hole and both bolts being original, you can do them up so much tighter

I've enquired about getting replacement bolts for vmaxx. Will chase it up and see what's available. Those ones on ktec aren't suitable

Dan, you'll probably fare better than me, but when I enquired about replacement bolts, Vmaxx told me they couldn't get me them.
My original eccentric washers rounded, which is why I was after replacements.
But ended up just using the standard bolts, and judging by eye where the nut was in the slot bit.

Don't have the car or coilovers any more though!

Everyone said they couldn't get new rear springs for Vmaxx too. It took me 2 weeks to sort what others hadn't managed in 6 months ;)

leave it with me

Hi I have just bought a set of v-maxx second hand and they come with the special washers but not the new bolt that came with the kit originally, does anyone know whether the washers will work with the oem top bolt or if the one supplied was different in any way??

The bolt supplied with the coilovers had a flat edge on one side to fit the washers. So no, original bolts won't work with washers. Although you can just use the original bolts without the washers.

Right ok then, I am assuming from above that noone knows where to get a replacement at the moment? Just a bit concerned about fitting them without the washers etc and the potential for movement! Does anyone have a pic of the bolt so I can see what it looks like? is the thread as normal (ie straight) and it just have a shaped shank or head to fit the washers or is the whole bolt different??

Fair enough! Was going to take it to a local place to get a proper set-up done anyway (hunter), so am assuming they could just slacken the bolt off and adjust the camber anyway!?
