Front passenger side suspension mount

  Renault Clio 16v
My car feels as if it is set up wrong at the front! the car sits higher at the front than the back? I have fitted 17"s so you cant half tell the difference!

I have problems with a grinding noise from the steering rack when I turn left only but my wheels are not coming into contact with the arch's etc!

I was told to put on 5 mil spacers which I have done but the problem is still there! I have alot of play in the steering wheel as well which makes me wonder do I require a new rack???

The car also has a new drivers side driveshaft but the passenger side one hasn't been changed, could this cause the grinding noise??

Any help would be appreciated!

Andy

Check your drivesahft shaft. Get hold of it at one end end see if theres any play in it if not check the toher end. The rubber gaiters can crack the grease leaks out and they wear away.
Just because one shaft is broken the other could be fine.
As regards the height has the car possibly ever been lowered as this could account for the height difference?

Edde,

Don't know about the lowering of the car as I'm the 3rd owner but it looks daft to me! I intend on dropping the front end but obviously I'm only going to do this once I sort this grinding noise out!!

Having a new part fitted to my engine next Friday so I will pass on your idea.

Thanks

Andy
