Front speakers

Guys im new to this so any advice would be much appreciated. Ive just bought a new head unit a JVC kd lhx501 and am now looking at replacing my front speakers. Ive done a search in the forum and have found load sof useflu advice but im still confused over one thing.

Ive seen some speakers i like some infinity 5000cs components (are these any good???). Now these come with tweeters and the normal mid range speaker and a crossover thingy. I want to know do i have to fit the crossover thing and the tweeters or can i just use the component mid range speakers with my normal clio tweeters and plug them all up as standard without the cross over box. Hope this makes sense. Like i say any advice would be much appreciated.

You can, I did that with mine before I could be bothered fitting the x-overs and tweeters but it will not sound nearly as good. Temporary - yes, permanent NO!

Hope this helps :)

As above it wont be anywhere near as good as installing it properly. Why spend the money if youre only going to use one bit of the kit and botch the install.

OK thanks guys for the advice. WOuld it be better to just get some decent two ways instead then. I just dont fancy sticking extra tweeters about or ripping the dash out. Really i want the best sound possible from the standard speaker positions. Any other advice is welcome. Thanks guys

Its a piece of piss to take the top dash off to get to the tweeters, takes less than 10 minutes. Seriously consider it as its a very easy job.

I mounted some 1" Pioneer tweeters on the inside of the wing mirrors and they look great imo but then I needed the dash tweeters - I used them instead of an extra speaker for the phone H/F.

If you get tweeters that have the brackets designed to put them in bigger speaker holes then taking the dash of is very easy as Pete says. Join the glory that is ClioSport and theres a guide on how to do it in the members section.

Thanks guys your advice is much appreciated. Think im gonna have a go at mounting the speakers in the dash. First id better join in order to find out how to remove the dash!!!
