Front Suspension Problem ?

R

rich[182]

If im in 1st gear and on anything like decent lock when turning (pulling in/out of a car park space) or in particular when going in/out of my drive where theres a 2" lip on curb then the front passengers side "doesnt feel right"

Get either a brief heavy thumping kinda noise (not loud) or it just feels like its slipped or something, only seems to be passengers front side

Otherwise car drives, handles fine, doesnt pull to either side even under braking, no abnormal tyre wear, no visible signs of anything wrong with supension, ball joint, track rod end or wheel bearing etc but theres def something strange

Short of going to dealer, is there anything else I can check or has anyone else had this ?

I'm about to get Sportlines fitted but want to resolve any probs beforehand

Cheers

I had this very same problem for the past week or so, got so paranoid over it i took it to garage today who suggested that the springs where rubbing just slightly, applied a little wd40 or whatever grease it is and now, the above problem has gone :) happy chappy

mate there are a few mods on 172/182....power steering pipes/suspension turrets need reshaping as shocker mounts hit the turrets on full lock or going up or down kerbs.

Cheers all, Will have a look at the other thread & may get it looked at when I have the Sportlines fitted, weird it's only passenger side, never drivers side

Mine does the same, on the passenger side.

When I drive up to my garage, over the kerb turning right or left off the main road.

Mine doesn't sound like the top mounts as it's coming from the bottom of the car.

I'm not worried about it.
