Front suspension squeak - just over some small to medium bumps

Car  172 Rally Car
The front drivers side (i think) has developed a slight squeak, mainly over small bumps but its really annoying! it seems to have started scince the weather has got colder. i have oiled the ARB bush's and its got K tech rose jointed top mounts, Any ideas? normal?

do you have by any chance the powerflex lower wishbone bushes?

Nope standard - i am glad someone else is having the same problems with it i did think coild weather and rubber bushes

I will see if it goes when it warms up!

I get this when the car/weather is cold too :S

You always seem to hear rally cars doing a lot of that squeeking too whatever is going on there, or it could be something else on them lol

try some wd40 or smth on all bushes and see if it helps. or if you have the time take off the lower arms and get a closer look to their bushes as I'm sure that's where the noise is coming from

I have and I keep hearing cracks/groans, only at low speed though, when I brake/accelerate

When I had the suspension checked by a Renault specialist they found no problem though, even when it was tested on a suspension test thing

well then check for this:

this happened to mine. you have to weld the outer sleeve to the lower arm. mine began to squeak just like the OP said but initially I thought that's normal (heard that powerflex bushes do that..)

If you've had a lot of snow your bushes will get worn down aswell. Mine have perished with the snow and grit getting to them

i dont like the look of that bottom arm?
yes it isn't pretty at all, the outer sleeve came out of the arm and was rubbing on the mounting brackets, that's where the squeak was from (metal on metal)

the wishbone was ok, it was just the bush sleeve that came out. it needs to be welded to the wishbone to prevent that

mine's squeaked for a while. i'm scared now. although i am powerflex'd up too.

yeah if you have powerflex you should check and then weld the sleeves if not much damage taken
