Fuel Consumption !!!

  Clio 182 cup FF
Hi all,

I have recently purchased an 05 plate Clio 182 FF. I absolutely love it. I'm not 1 of these people that love to boot the thing everywhere. Does anyone know how many miles ( roughly ) you can get out of a full tank ?

Peoples feedback is greatly appreciated.

Not bad at all. Also, is are all the fuel gauges a bit wacky ? Mine seems to have a mind of it's own. Fluctuates A bit. Not by a huge amount. But 1 min my tank will be full. Next minute it'll of gone down a dash. Then the next minute will be full again ?!?!?!?!

Yeah mine does lol hard driving knocks it down a fair bit....then when ive stopped an come back out its com up half a bar etc lol

use the trip comp i think its more accurate

I drove to Birmingham today from London and my trip computer said that I had 285 miles left of fuel, averaging 37mpg.
Around 29mpg on normal town driving.

  Not a 320d
I usually get between 300-350 miles out of my 182, although my MPG seems low at the moment, not sure why.

Mines utterly shite.

Usually i get 375 miles to a tank and thats not even motorway. I know its bad in the winter but im lucky to see 300. last month i got 250 miles and that was taking it easy.

My 172 Cup averages 34mpg, but has done 40+ on a long motorway run. Not bad for a hot hatch really.

I get 36mpg which is mainly motorways it has gone down recently though not sure why. Maybe more use of the aircon due to cold weather.

Highest I have had is 39mpg.

Driving around Milton Keynes i get (if i'm lucky) 300 miles from a full tank

Only just got my 182 but driving from Derby to Bucks this week I got 40mpg, could have got more, and commuting this week with mixed driving iv got 34-35mpg

Sorry Grandad,.. Why did you buy a small car with a big engine again?

Mine averages 34mpg. Don't know how many per tank.

Well on a mororway commute to work which is under a 50 limit a lot of the time I get great mpg Lol

Even when putting the pedal down still rarely goes below 40 :) just because it has a big engine I dont feel the need to thrash it everywhere all the time :/

I'm happy for you, I can achieve similar mpg but after a while I find it too frustrating and default back to normal, quicker driving. How do you have such restraint?

This mpg is at 60-70 mph when not in the 50 limit...would say I'm far from the slowest thing on the road

Do take into consideration the cold weather, will be affecting it too.

As far as the fuel guage goes, it's s**t, and to be honest I don't trust the trip counter all that much either.

Fill your car to the brim thennext time you fill up look at the amount of litres on the pump and how many miles you've done then you can work out mpg, fo reallzz!

mixed driving i get 300 to a tank , roughly 37 mpg according ty the computer. stick it on the motorway and reset the mpg computer and you will easily see 40+

Surely its not too hard for you to stick to a 50mph speed limit on a 50 limit road?

I'm currently averaging about 29.5 on the current tank of fuel as its only been running round town. Easily gets 42-45 on a motorway run

In my 172 cup im lucky if i get 280 out of the tank, and thats with gentle right foot. Is there something wrong here. And mpg is worse on motorways. May have a service, see if that does anything.

  172 Cup
I've had 138 miles out of half a tank in my 1.2 8v without ragging but then other days ive had 200 :s
Fuel gauges in clio's are shocking though!

i take it easy in the week and average around 42mpg

weekends it tends to drop a fair bit. never really below 32mpg tho over a week. usually ends up about 36/37mpg mixed driving. i think thats pretty good really.

think i get 330miles ot of the tank? something like that. i never run it on empty.

Aircon can go hot aswell as cold usually about have it on about 20-22

No it doesn't? Unless it's blowing ice cold air it's just like any other cars fan/heater.

Climate control however ;) Also unless the air con pump is actually "on" which it won't be this time of year, it doesn't use anymore fuel.

My car has averaged 31.67mpg over last 10,207 miles.

Best i've ever had over a tank is 37.16. That was driving 55ish on a motorway (had 3 hours to do 70 miles)
