alrite ive got 1.2 16v clio and it seems to drink pertol cosidering it only small engie it seems to do bout 30mpg on average is that correct ive put 17s on so does that make difference wats everyone else get on 1.2 16v clio best or average cheers

Seems like youve got a foot as heavy as mine.

On the 1.2 16V courtesy cars Ive had I got about 30~33mpg on the long run to work and about 20 when booting it.

Owners MPG depends so much on how they drive some owners get 50mpg some get 30.

I wouldnt worry to much the 17s arnt doing anyhting for your speed though.

yeh i get about 33mpg on my cup, it gets better as the engine loosens up a bit

if its any help..my mums 1.4 16v gets about 37/38 mpg so personally id of thought the 1.2 would of been just a little bit better than that

My current average on my 182 is 27, thats a mixture of normal and lead foot
o dear .. my vee is doing that .. and i suffer from lead foot syndrome

the most ive got is 527 miles out of a full tank. there was a lot of dual carrigeway and motorway driving for that. the least ive got out of a tank is 380. as others have said; the MPG will improve slightly as the engine loosens up.

Depending on what mood im in I can get 35mpg normally in my 172, but town driving, or when im booting it, I get 26-27mpg.

My 1.2 16v drinks petrol like an alcoholic. Its terrible. on the motorway its the worst car because youve got the the revs all the way up for long periods of time. around town my economy is good but when i want to unleash that 1.2 16v potential i have to suffer quite bad economy. Its down to the gearing i suppose. The gears are too short for economy but if they were longer then itd be too slow and boring!

I think you need to reconsider your driving style!

I have a 172 and also regulalrly use my mums 1.2 16v and my other halfs 1.2 8v.

The 1.2 16v averages 45-55mpg, the 172 from 32-40mpg and the 1.2 8v doesnt have a trip computer, but seems the same as the 16v 1.2.

yeah all clios needed a 6speed g/box........ motorway in my 1.6 i get probs about 35-40 as its always sitting at like 3.5 or 4k revs and using a lot of fuel

at 30/40/50 i can get loads mpg (55ish)

45-55mpg i wish ive treid driving all different ways even got my dad to drive car and he drive slow e.g not booting it etc and best ive got is 35mpg cud there be probel with my car

Id suggest this:

Re-set trip computer
Drive very gently (as in 2,500rpm max, using accelerator lightly)
Get to a long dual carriageway or motorway
Stick to 55mph for about 15 minutes
See what your trip computer says
If its not well over 40mpg, you have a problem! (which would usually be accompanied by sluggish engine performance).
