Fuel Filter Ph1 172?????

Does it have one?

The dealer told me that its in the tank as part of the pump. Is that right? Done a search and it looks like some have been sold/advertised on here as for a ph1 and early ph2 so there is a filter available for it.


Very confusing.

Anyone shed some light?

yea if its got one its just in front of the tank. if theres not one there then its in the tank. i can get a pic of where its surpose to be.

Surely its gonna be on a build date or something, not just random?

Cant remember seeing one on Dan's/My car can u?

Yea there is a build date i think its very late 2000 onwards. No i cant remember seeing one mate.

I think all Ph1 have them.
RHS in front of rear wheel and in a bit. You can change it without jacking up the car and it is easy to spot. Round silver can, about 10cm in length.

It did have one, dispite what Reno told me. Ran round to Halfords while it was up in the air at my mates garage and picked one up.

IIRC all mk2ph1 have them, and its the same part for all of them. Its fairly simpe to change, your suposed to de-presurrize the system, then it just unclips and the pipe just clip off the ends.
