Fuel gauge issues!?

i have a 1.4 16v 2000 elize clio, no negative issues as such apart from the fuel gauge, it is unbelievably inaccurate and will often vary as much as 1/4 of a tank. and it also shows me as having a lot less fuel then i knw i have but it makes me refuel because subconciously i think im gona break down lol! anyone else have this issue?

The fuel gauges arn't great. Have you looked at changeing or checking its not got a loose wire?

It's worth checking if there was a recall on your car about this. I took mine into the stealers the other day for a few recalls to be carried out. One of them was something about the jobbie that measures the fuel levels in the tank.
