Fuel needle gone beserk!!

went to start my ph1 today and because it dosnt start properly first time, each time i turned the ignition on the fuel needle went up a half a tank until it was pointing the other way???!!

any ideas much appreciated

Mine was the same, after 5 mins of driving, engine off and on again and it was ok.

Saw this on Facebook... couldnt help but laugh a bit! Typical french barge!

Does it move when the ignition is switched off?

hey sash, yeah its as if the whole dial has just been moved round to the opposite side, the needle moves round when i turn the car on then moves back when i turn it off

cant you do the dail test like people do on ph2's?

Try filling the car up, it might "reset" the float in the tank

I don't think the Ph1's have the trip computer button on the end of the wiper stalk do they?

yeah they do to check the mpg, miles in the tank, distance travelled etc

ignition key off, and press and hold the end of the mpg button while you turn ignition key to on. soon as dials start moving let go of button and see what the crack is, not sure how it might help, might though

nope no luck fuel guage dosnt even budge with the others
