Fuel pump gone, how to change?

Hi my fuel pump decided to die on me yesterday! So I got it towed home, the question is can I used the pump off my clio 1.8 16v to get the 1.4 going? How hard is this to do as I can't see any fixings to get the damn pump off.

This is the 1.4 pump .. It looks different than the one in Haynes?

Valver pump.. looks totally different take it it's not swappable?

looks a hell of a lot different, might just be easier picking one up from the scrap yard rather than mixing and matching parts

Get a hammer and a large screw driver and give the plastic securing ring a knock, this will loosen it and then twist the ring off..... the sender unit / pump will then come out. You could make your clio pump fit but its a lot of messin. Pull the bottom of the sender unit plastic casing off and this will give you access to fuel pump. Disconnect the terminals and the fuel line and replace it with the 1.8 16v one - be careful as the sender units are very delicate
