fuel pump question...

have a query for you
Where is the fuel pump on a t reg 1.2 clio rn?
my car has a 172 conversion but think it still has 1.2 tank and pump... because when fuel level gets low (like 1 mark on the fuel guage) and i go round a round about its like its starved of fuel like missfires and cuts out then it will go again fine,
do you think uprating the fuel pump to a 172 pump will make it better?
has any one uprated there fuel pump?
just found some walbro pumps on ebay
but dont really wana buy one to be honest just want some advice

its under the rear seat, on the drivers side.

there is a small black cover, pull it off and you will see the top of the tank and pump

ahh rite will it have any numbers or marked somewhere letting me know whether its a 1.2 or a 2.0 fuel pump?

erm, possibly, it will have a part number on the top maybe...

if it does not, unscrew the big black locking ring, and disconnect the plug, carefully lift it up out of the tank, there is bound to be a part number somewhere on there

are you sure? surely a 2.0litre would have a bigger fuel pump than a 1.2??

mine does exactly the same thing when it gets to one bar on the gauge

if its the same thing the mk1's suffer from starvation under hard cornering (normally the cup racers when running slicks)

people have looked into using tank foam or similar but not sure if anyone has cured it yet
