fuel question...

a mate of mine uses normal 95 ron petrol but 1 in 4 tanks puts in redex, says that this makes up the difference. any opinions welcomed....

I thought that redex was for older, higher mileage cars?? I used to use it lots in my XR2i, but never in my Clio, it just doesnt need it.....

172s are meant to be 98 ron only, i use optimax

I always thought that modern petrol had the same or simalar cleaning agents in it to redex??? May be wrong, not sure !!!

Plus 172s are reccomended to use 98 RON fuel anyway, Just use Shell optimax in every tank, I have found it to give a bit more power and I now get on average 30 - 40 miles more per tank !!
