fuel readings.

Ok..

i gave that problem test.. where you hold in the button on the right stalk thingy.. turned on the engine. and noticed that i had 25 litres of fuel..

but the fuel guage reads well below half tank.. like a stick below.. *level ground btw..

ive always thought the clio had a 50 litre tank.. so.. it should be in the middle..

so im wonderin if the guage shows less fuel so that u dont ever go dry.. or.. my guage is fed?.. or im just bein picky..

do u guys find this or is it just moi.?

use the consumption reading in gallons when you have used 5.5 you at half a tank , and 11 your out of fuel

I find the fuel gauge isn't the most accurate thing in the world an its doesn't go down linearly, it'll stop at a point for a while before continuing to go down.

I wouldn't worry about it and just use the gauge and/or trip computer to know how much fuel you've got because i've never seen one that works as you'd expect it to, though it does work.

Got used to mine a long time ago. First half of the tank lasts about 100 miles the second half maybe 200-250 miles!! And thats without changing how Im driving!

ok, i may sounds stupid...but the trip computer, telling you your consumption and miles left etc?well if i hit red light, all of them stop giving me readings?surely its not just mine, can it be fixed, and i think its a bloody stupid design, cause id rather know how long i got left once im running out of petrol??

You mean the numbers dissapear when you've stopped ?
If it does then theres something wrong because it shouldn't do that, the only reading where the numbers dissapear is the miles to go one which goes to dashes when your on the last gallon of petrol and the lights on.

i mean if im driving along, as soon as i hit the red light the numbers go blank (into the lines) last reading ive seen from my car was that i had 50miles left untill i run outa petrol?after that it shows me nothing!!just blank screen?

Below the minimum fuel mark the ECU stops calculating remaining range. The fule tank sensors not that accurate with suck little fuiel in the tank so the ECU gives up working it out.

yeah, surprisingly annoying!!i dont really need to know how far i can go when i have a full tank, i kinda feel more worried when i have none left....just silly
