Fuel sender/ low fuel level warning

Evening all, can somebody help please, my fuel tank is full to the brim, and yet my low level fuel warning light stays lit up, and the LCD display just flashes on the fuel side, The temperature side seems to work just fine,

So, can anybody shed some light on what may be wrong, my car is a 2008 campus, but shares the fuel pump with a Mk2 not a mk 3,

Lift up the back seat , look for the black round plastic cover , take that off then tap a screwdriver handle on the pump casing a few times gently. It's likely the float has got stuck or something
