Fujifilm S5600 Help!

  Megane DCi 147bhp/350nwm
Well i've had one for a while now and not really had a massive play around with the settings till i saw the Crash Course in photography thread - awesome by the way.

Few little quiggles which might just because my camera is cheap?

I want to get a picture where the background is out of focus.

Playing with the aperature i've found it only ranegs from F3.2 - F8?

Am i doing something wrong?

Also whats the 10" - 2500 setting next to the F number setting on the viewfinder!

I know thats the shutter speed
and thinkg the F numbers are because it's cheap, i've got the same cam btw.

ok, this is hard to achieve with smaller sensor cameras, you need to stand back from your subject and zoom in a fair amount. Then set the camera to aperture priority and shoot the lowest f/number possible. Would also help to distance the subject from its back ground... see if any of that helps...
