Fun in the sand

  172cup
Went over to Black Rock Sands last night as we were seriously bored, and was a nice afternoon.

It was quite quiet nearer the end of the evening, and let me have quite a lot of fun lol (how old am i?). Anyway... after about an hour of pretending i was 12, my car was covered in the bloody stuff.

After my fun, my wheels were dangerously unballanced, and was all over the road... had to remove about 12kg of sand from each rear wheel lol

anyway... getting to the point... good place for a potential meet? Very nice roads around, mountain passes etc etc... and of course 6 mile stretch of hard sand lol

Yeah, I'd not take my car anywhere near the sea water or a beach, but definatley in someone elses lol.

Looks like fun.

your vx was ALOT lower than my 4x4 cup. however it was constantly on my mind lol. at one point asking my gf whether she thought the aa cover would pick me out of the sea with a hiab.

the sand at black rock is very fine and hard. it's all compressed and is really smooth to drive on.

just got to watch out for the wet bits lol. momentum is key.

on problems with my paintwork. as said it's super fine, and completely dry.

only problem i had was it seriously affected my wheel balance. got the jet wash out... problem solved.

seriously recommend it.

i was just worried about it digging in and rolling me. bear in mind i was doing about 60 before flicking it.

there was a guy in a mk2 gti 16v who was seriously going nuts... but very controlled. he was getting up serious speed and doing consecutive 360's.

i wasn't so brave. i like my car.

Looks like a good blat out! I'm sure I'd be hosing down the car for weeks after though - getting all the sand out!

I think I can safely say that Rich's black mirror will never see a beach in it's life....

it was jet washed within 2 mins of leaving the dunes... no harm done so far.

done about 100+ miles in it today. no knocks, no leaks, no scratches, no nothing :)

giving it a good clean this afternoon. Can't wait to go back.

Just out of curiosity.... how fast do you need to be going realistically to say... oh i dunno.... roll it?
