FUN - your best car yet

What cars have you owned/driven that youd say was the most *FUN* to drive/thrash ! ! !

it doesnt have to be massive power, comfortable, good mpg,

just for fun factor......

my top 3 in reverse order,

r5 turbo mk1 ( stripped to the very least, dirt feild car :))

clio williams (road going go-kart)

ac cobra v8 (raw power and that tuned v8 exhaust note :) ]

Lee

  BMW M2C

For pure grin factor Id have to say:

Impreza P1

306GTi-6

182

Ive driven loads of really fancy stuff, but you cant push a 911 or TVR on the road like you can those. Im sure given a track matters would be very different.

my top three, would b 3rd place, mini pick up, ace fun, specially with a 1380 raqce engine, 2nd place me clio172, and the winner............me 470bhp urquattro, it was the biggest, meansest, nastiest monster of a car, i have ever been in

my charged vts is the most fun ever! ultimate street sleeper of a car!

then of course my clio

then my works kangoo van! damn those things handle well and r quick off the mark!

  Titanium 182

1st

punto gt with a load of performance and suspension &brakes set up, mental accelration sounded mint and was a top drive all around once sorted from std spec it made 181bhp on the rollers at a punto rrday

2d

probably the 172 for the fun factor and reviness of the engine, top handling with coilovers also

3rd

200bhp ibiza :D

loads of torque

comfortable and loverly to drive very quick aswell faster than the 172 and faster than both the above after a ton

WRX STI -04
Audi TT 225bhp roadster -00
BMW 750IA V12 -97
Porsche 928 V8 -78
CTR -03
BMW 628 CSI

Just driven, not owned...

if idd you are telling the truth. i envy you.. and almost more than likely the winner here ;)

clearly a monster of a car.. full carbon fibre panels.. id love a go in one of these old beasts

my own 350+/- impreza was fun, hopefully a skyline in a couple of years.. till then the cup will have to do ;) (with any luck the old man will finish his 600hp nitrous tojero, should be fun)

  car? need a license 1st!

my 3 best drives have to be (in reverse order)

3. A 106 rallye that my dad got for my mum a few months back, i had to drive it back from wilmslow, to my house in the back end of beyond. The motorway was boring, but the back road... wooooooooooo that thing went like sh*t off a shovel, my dad had trouble keeping up in his 330d Beemer!

2. My mums J reg Mazda Eunos Roadster (import) took it down into town a coupld of weeks back, and had some fun with a mk2 MR2.. tee hee

1. Definatley my little clio now, 1.4S, not the slowest thing about, no engine mods at all and ive wasted standard VTRs in it. Since ive had the yokos put on the front roundabouts are good fun, especially in the wet, the back end just popping out. Oh and ive spun it on Doningtion race track (see Just got in)

Other than those, ive driven:

X reg BMW 330d, top spec model
R reg Clio 1.4RT mk2 ph1
K reg Nova 1.2Expression (my first car)
T reg Mercedes C220 diesel (automatic :()

My old Clio Williams was by far - and I mean by far - the most exploitable car Ive driven. This may have something to do with the fact that I "grew up" with the Mk1 Clio (1.2, 16V and then the Willy), or that I live in Wales with a whole host of well-surfaced B-roads outside my door.

I now drive a Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo. That blows the socks off most things less swift than a 911, but its not such a complete machine as the Willy was. It has its own character and cult following although it would rely on pure speed rather than polish to dispense with a well-driven Willy.

I tried the new 172s after selling the Willy, but just didnt get on with them. I still think that Ill end up owning a 172/182/other hot Clio at some stage, but right now the memories of the Willys sweet nature left me wanting more from its offspring.

Oh, and what the hell is an Audi TT doing in the list above? I was driving one just today and I detested it!

My old MY03 PPP WRX Impreza and my cup are the most fun Ive had in a car Ive owned, my third is the VX 220 Turbo I drove on a trackday at Palmersport - awesome motor! :)

  Clio v6

MG Maestro Turbo Scarey but fun.

Nearest thing to that experience was my 172. Wibbly Wobbly. Hop Skip and a Jump :)

1= My Rusty old Fiesta RS Turbo - once chipped was great fun - loads of grip but no suspension give ment you fought it on every road which I loved at the time but its gets tiresome without PAS. Nowhere near as good as the Willie as a Car but as much fun to me.

1= My Williams - On a Dual Carrageway it feels a bit pointless and not composed enough - you dont believe how good it is until you take it on another B road and hammer it.

3 - Rusty, clocked, badly looked after, XR2i - it was a dog of a car new but after 8 years of abuse was a real dog of a car - because it cost me bugger all I drove the wheels of it and had a great time. Would probably be really bad if I drove it now but at the time it was superb - not a care about it so I treated it really badly.

Driven lots of cars and things like Scoobs,Evos and the RX7 ive driven were great cars but I like chukable wee cars for some reason as I find bigger cars too composed thus less fun.

  car? need a license 1st!

my dad went to a palmersport day, he said the best car there is the clio cup that they race...

he said the vx220 is good also :p

Well, Im on my 9th R5 GT turbo, so you could say I think thats the most fun car Ive driven.

The Mazda 323 4x4 Turbo was great in the corners, but not much grunt.

But for outright power and handling, nothing comes close to the Supra.

Clio Cup race car is good (drove one on friday) but it doesnt touch a caterham or clone for pure fun. Not had a chance to drive the bike engined one yet, but as a passenger it was awsome.

  172 cup

in descending order

3. 20vt.. quick, but not really a true drivers car

2. cup.. very predictable ride and fantastic fun overall, almost on a par with below

1. elise.. it was tuned and setup for track use mainly so not perfect for roads but gripped like crazy, went where you told it and did not have any body roll whatsoever! Oh and it sounded truly amazing :)

  Massey6465 & saxo1.1

3rd---WRX import 2nd---Williams 1st----XR2 TT,I was lucky enough to have one of the few cars factory converterd by turbo technics.Spent a bit getting more power out of it(175ish) and it became one of the best sleepers of its day.

Palmersport Jag - Feck me!

Mk1 Exige

My old 106MK2 Rallye / Cup (joint)

Driven loads of faster stuff but these were best( InMYOpinion! ) Drivers cars

  C4 Grand Picasso

I had a Mk1 Mr2, pretty quick, mid-engine rear wheel drive meant that I could slide the back end out round corners, easily the most enjoyable car Ive owned.

  Street Triple R

Absolutely no question for me,

The best fun car ive ever driven has to be a

205 1.6 GTI which we bought for £250, round town this car was 100% awful but get it on a open road and it changed into an absolutely stunning amazingly balanced and delicate car, with a gorgeous gearchange and the most amazing handling ive ever driven..........ask adamf ;)........bought a 1.9 after and it wasnt as good

followed by my

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 2 GSR, this car was amazing, the power, the handling, the poise, everything about it, and the fact that no one knew what it was! combined to make it an incredible car.....miss it to this day, again upgraded to a Evo 4 afterwards....nowhere near as good

Not driven that many cars but...

3rd: proper Mini 1 litre - you could drive it flat out everywhere, even around town, because it had such little power. The springs on the one I drove were rock solid, great on the right road though.

2nd: Punto sporting (1.2 16v 86bhp) - great fun, not much power but great handling and lots of character. Far more fun than the VTR Id almost got instead of the Punto.

1st: 172 - so alike in character to the Punto but with double the BHP!

Most fun car i have driven is my old rover 25!!!!

Its fairly modded (zr kit, 17" zr alloys, plenty of custom bits and full koni suspension kit).I loved that car to bits and it cornered like it was on rails - i wish that my 172 would corner like that thing did.

Best bit was when i out cornered a scooby on a big round about (just off j29 m1) at 65 mph+, it was ace you could just hang the back end out a little bit and keep your foot planted. The scoody drivers face was a picture!

My mate laughed at me when i told him but he stopped after he did exactly the same thing to another scooby.

Second most fun car i had was a k reg 1.1 metro!!!

Paid £150 for it, ran it for 12 months, raced and overtook a xr2i down country lane, crashed it into loads of stone walls while playing in the snow, had the car rammed and nothing happend to it and it got broke into, got it wrote off and got £905 for the pay out!!!!

Gav.

1) Another one for the JP1!Simply incredible, awesome noise, speed, tyres, everything!

2) Porsche 944 Turbo - Continent crushing comfort (big leather Recaro sports seats), track day warrior, and holiday cruiser (nearly the whole roof can be removed).

3) Clio 172 Cup - Having thought I was too old for hot hatch cars and had the cash to buy better.....it is just REALLY good fun.

Ford Escort 1.4 Encore.

Very communicative never driven any car as comunicative as it.

Then for pure power the 182 but I never realy got to do many corners to see what its like on the twisties.

3rd- Alfa Romeo AlfaSud 1.5 Ti Green Cloverleaf. I had 13 of these in my younger days and were truely great fun. Flat 4 boxer engine..(my first proper little car)

2nd- Fiat Strada 130TC Abarth. Had 2 of these 130bhp twin carb monsters. Truely raw to drive. Poor brakes but fab steering and grunt.

1st- Lancia Integrale 16v. Fab car. Handled, braked, accelerated and was reliable). Many fond memories and some impressive scalps. That 4wd system was so flattering for an average driver like myself.

Unfortunately, the 182 is not yet on this list as Ive only had it 6 weeks. I had the above cars for long periods of time but the 182 is definately showing potential. The RS6 I drove the other day, hhhhmmmm.......

5th - escort 1.8 si - cheap parts, which was good cuz it needed lots of them

4th - micra 1.3 super s - loads of understeer, then sudden oversteer

3rd - mini cooper - class all round

2nd - gen 5 celica 4ws (went sideways way to often :) )

1st - cup (needs concentration at speed, but its sooo much fun!)

the most fun car ive driven was an Elise around silverstone....was much better than the ferrari....2nd would have to be my CUP.....and 3rd would be my dads fait uno 45 (yes thats 45bhp) I was 17 just passed my test and i loved it...used to thrash it a fair bit!! quality:devilish:

  None

My old Cinquecento turbo. So many bad points - poor build quality, dodgy handbrake, ate brake pads and spark plugs, but it could really shift and had bags of character. Great turn in and sharp handling too.

I know its a beemer but by a mile mine would have to be my mates m3 evo coupe!Man that was something else!
other than that iv always liked driving valvers and willys
Barry what was the spec on the mazda turbo?Man id love one of them!!

f.y.i std figures :- the mazda 323 turbo was 1.6T @136bhp for the old lighter boxy model approx 1100kg and newer model 1.8T @ 180? bhp, group 14-16 Insurance i think. Best model is the newer Mazda 323 1.8T GT-R.

  EP3 Civic Type R

Ive driven alot of cars, I think the 106 is quite fun... 160bhp per tonne in a very small car.... handling is 2nd to none

Hello all, Im new on here, thought I better start posting...

1st - Pug 205 GTi (Ive had a couple of them)

2nd - My Clio 172

3rd - Fiat Uno Turbo (Boosted right up!)
