further to the loose steering rack

car was motd a while back (couple of weeks)

cut a long story short just read the report and "things to watch out for" column stated that the antiroll bar bushes were a little worn, but not to cause too much movement . . .

now i have no idea about mechanics sadly, but could this be the cause of me having a lot of feedback/loose feeling in the steering rack??

I wouldnt have thought so, the anti roll bar bushes are on the subframe and and the ends/bottom of the wishbones. Shouldnt really cause any steering issues. What do you mean by loose feeling??

the cars steering drops before the rest of the car. i know clios have floating top mounts, but my rack moves all over the place.

its god scary to drive quickly ie motorways. gets very tiring for long journies!

  RS RIP
really sounds like a prob that i have with my other car.. i'll be following this

Have you checked the AR bushes ?

Check the rack mounts, you might be able to resolve it by carefully tightening the bolts that hold the rack to the subframe. You can just about get to all 4 if you look where the cat is at the back of the frame.
