What we using and do you rate them etc.

My Kingston hyper cloud are good, think I paid 60 ISH a couple of years ago.

Think the mic needs to be better though.

Anyone tried a few sets and settled on one pair.

Astro A40 seems a good shout. Along with the razor V2.

I don't have gaming headphones, but quite a few Over ear, in ear, buds etc. I would have thought something like Sony 700ds might work ok for gaming, but of course, they don't have a mike, but always possible to add one.

Whichever you go for - I strongly vouch for wired. Messing about with charge times, additional weight (if only slight) of batteries in the headphones, etc - the small benefit of not having a cable simply isn't worth it for me.

Yeah always had wired.

Keeping an eye on some Razer Kraken v2 on ebay. Like the look of the Astro A40 with mix amp but quite a bit more from what i have seen.

Bought a pair 4 or so years ago. They're brilliant for the price and I would highly recommend. I paid £45 for them which was a bargain imo

Will have a mooch. You got a link

Tritton Kunai Stereo Headset - Black [PS4] https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0091NAG2E/?tag=cliospnet01-21

I had a nosey on amazon. It told me I bought these in january 2015 and they're as new, still working perfectly. I use them about 3 times a week when on the ps4 and they've worn exceptionally well. Theres some slight wear on the ear cups and that's it.

I bought them because they were very well priced, do the job and they plug into the pad. There are better headsets out there but for the money, these are brilliant.

Yeah I got the Hyper X Cloud 2 and they seem more than adequate. You can change the mic separately if you feel that's not up to par.

I'm using Logitech G533 wireless. Absolutely love it.

I'm a bit of a wireless fanboy though and Logitech were the first ones to market with wireless peripherals that were as good as wired and in some cases better.

Used a pair of Tritton's for quite a while - but the bridge section over the top started to split, probably getting over my fat head. I use these at work now.

Picked up a pair of QPAD headphones (possibly QH-90's, but not 100% sure on that) and have been using those for about two years. Proper comfy with good playback.

Don't forget to explore the possibility of having a dedicated soundcard in your PC over the onboard sound, if you use that. I used onboard for a number of years after Creative Labs went through a patch of crap drivers. I thought all was good, until I recently went back to a Creative Labs card and was pleasantly surprised at the improvement in sound quality overall.

£170?

Tried the ones at Amazon, decent tbf. Comfortable and the sound is good.

Felt a bit strange after the hyper X but happy with the purchase.

I’m still rocking the X-tatic Sharkoons 5.1 about 12 years old, still going very strong.

wouldnt mind a new headset with similar spec around £150+ area

I have the previous gen of these and they are great, the customisation is a bit boring where you have to go to a site for the levels etc but once you have them dialled I cant fault them

still the best to get? I think I’ll need something for a bit of gaming the next few weeks. Do you have issues with the sound volume?
I've no idea if they're "the best" mate but I've had no issues whatsoever. In the environments I've used them in (home and office) I've had zero issues.

I'm in need of a new pair of wired headphones replacing my Sharkoons X-Static 5.1 Surround Sound. It has a optical output cable but it would need an adaptor for the PS5. As there is no optical output on the PS5. i looked at the prices of the adaptor and the headset it really showing it's ago. Starting to crackle here and there on the other end of the chat, the wire has been cracked in a couple places showing bare wires which i repaired, other than that works brilliantly regarding it's age of about 8 years old ish.

Looked at the Astro's and would like something around £150+ and having a mixamp too much of a hassle?. Prefer a wired connection also and also having a surround sound experience where i can customise the volume like on my my X-Static control.

Also looked at Sennheiser and Logitec, what are other medium to high spec headsets out there with surround sound?

I’m moving from Sennheiser 360 special edition to gen 4 Astro A50. Looking forward to seeing (or hearing) what the Astro hype is all about.

Had a look at the Astro A40 TR with and without the mix amp. Is the mix amp worth the extra money, seems a big jump. I’d rather not spend £250 £300 on a headset like

Also the cable for the non Mix Amp does the cable go into the controller? And that mix amp model the cable goes into the mix amp?

Had a look at the bottom of the page on Amazon on the A40 TR. It says for the PS5 you’ll need an adapter.

Could someone find out which one it is and how much?

I bought my first gaming headset a few weeks ago too. I went for Turtle Beach Recon 70. They seem decent enough!

On a side note if anyone plays GTA on Xbox message me your gamertag.
