RSC 172
Hi all - just wanted to share my happiness in completing a little gauge project I started sometime ago. The project involved making two gauge pods, working with Fastchip to customise the RSTuner to drive the PLX DM-5 digital gauges. Here are some links:
Pod builder: http://www.mearcat.com.au/
Electronics and interfacing: http://www.fastchip.nl/RSTuner-Modules/iMFD-Display-Module-support/Detailed-product-flyer.html
Gauge Supplier: http://www.plxdevices.com/singlegauges.html
So it was a group effort. My part being the initial mouldings for the pods. I aslos wrote a guide to installing them which can be found here: http://www.fastchip.nl/Table/Manuals/
The gauges will work on any car the RSTuner will talk to ;-) If considering these gauges then aim for a 'boost' / 'AFR' / or EGT type to ensure widest range of displayable data. You set the data rates with the RSTuner to a slow 10ms update rate.
Here are some links to how they look installed:

I have been running them for quite a few months now and they work a treat. They automatically boot when you start the car in about 2 seconds and display real time data direct from the ECU. I also run a WB 02 sensor which I display as well. Currently running AIT, KC, Ave Knock, AFR.
Just letting you all know there are sensible guage options out there. Any questions please ask. The guages are quite cheap ~$100 US ea, if you have a RSTuner Premium plus then you just activate the 'gauge module' 40 Euro and the pods although not in mass production yet are approx $120 Aust ea. The gauges connect in a serial fashion and are powered direct from the RSTuner VCI so minimal cabling and NO extra sensors required. Of course you can add some like the WB 02 or a Oil Temp / pressure sender if they grab your fancy.
Cheers - if I edit this it's because the image links didn't work
