Gave it a proper clean

  RB 182
After getting some tips about detailing I thought I would give it a go with the long weekend. Shame that it kept raining when I tried to do the different stages.

Washed it (2 bucket method)
Clay
AG SRP
AG EGP
Carnauba Wax

Pictures would be better but it was nearly dark and the sun didn't really come out all weekend.

Really pleased with the results.

looks good , any future plans . colour coding ???

I've been trying to get some turinis and I've considered colour coding but I also don't want to go too mad as I want to get a sport next year so I'm keeping my money for that really.

AG Vinyl & Rubber care applied with a microfiber, had to do it a few times as I kept getting the other layers on it.

Nice and tidy motor!

I think your doing the right thing by not spending money on colour coding etc, if your buying a sport next year.

You'll have no problems selling a clean, well looked after motor. I didn't when I sold my old 1.2 RN clio :)

Cheers for the comments guys.

What should I be doing to keep the gloss like that, do I need to do all the stages like I've done this time? (Hope not because it took ages  )

clay is every 6 months/ish

I'd wax it every couple of weeks and polish every month or so to keep it looking mint.

ha ha I always clay mine when I start noticing tar/black bits on my paint work. Oh and when it's not raining :)

Weekly wash and quick detail spray and like Jay says top up the wax every few weeks. Redo the whole polish & sealant once every 3-6 months.

I only seem to clay mine about once a year. If you notice stuck on stuff after washing and the paint losses the glass feel then it is time to clay.

You have done the hardwork, just a case of maintaining it now.

I hate doing the interior!

I'm not a fan of doing the interior either, trying to get the hoover in the little stupid gap between the seat and door ledge and by the handbrake. Right pain in the ar5e!

I've not done the interior for ages as I just keep doing the outside. There's only really me that goes in it, needs must though.

Haha! Knowsit. My long thin hoover attachment is just to big to reach the carpet between seat and handbrake! Grr!

its easy to remove the handbrake plastic piece to give the hoover piece a chance to get inbetween the seats for the bits and bobs that collect in there. Its held on by 4 clips, try getin it from the rear side and sliding it forward and it should slide off, helps alot with the hoovering in there which is a bassa.

My top tip is some masking tape/ sellotape round your fingers and use that to stick the 'dirt' to. I used this method all the time as a former valeter in my youth, time consuming but it works and picks up all the wee bits the hoover wont
