Gaz Coilovers... yes or no? Ive been told there shite, but im really keen..

stick with the 4x4 look
buy apex 40mm springs
buy GAZ
buy GAZ gold

or spend £1K plus on others

Hmmmm, i never really had any problems with the Apex springs on my 172.. and it looked great

Would the ride be any better on Springs than on the hard gaz?

PM loony or gary g they both had a set and could give you some advice.

IMO I had gaz on my 172 and wouldn't have them again, worth while spending the extra money and get Leda's or the new H&R's

GAZ at 299 are cheep not the best kit in the world, Fred i think the Gold onea are better...as i said bubbles you get what you pay for but would look cool.

H&R's are now an option for the 182 at 800...

ah but its more than springs especially if your going to be tracking the car too, why not buy them, fit them, get them set-up properly if your not happy sell them on and save for a better set?

For £300 fitted if you don't like them, sell them on.. they will go like a shot on here ..

personally after seeing the damping reports on the GAZ std units I can see why they are harsh. The initial bump control valving was very stiff and not progressive at all.

they do however offer you a change or valving at very low prices so it can be fixed...

My GAZ coilovers broke in half before i could test 'em properly so i guess i can't comment in this thread

one of the rears (gaz) broke is seal after half an hours use.... they are are noisy in operation too

the bushes on my rear GAZ shocks failed within 12 months

the ride was hard even on the softest setting with reduced rate springs........get some flat tarmac and it was brilliant, anything other than that though and it was unsettled
