Gear box oil 1.2 16v

Had a few searches just in general.

Want to top up / Check and ideally change my gear box oil.

Is the first change over 75k?

Im on 60K and gearbox feels fine however i seem to remeber it being a little better to change.

Under the air box, The 5cm of thin tubing with a cap, Is this the filler? Isnt it somewhere towards the front next opposit the rad?

What oil will i need to get for top up and is the capacity 3.1L?

My grandads nicked my Haynes Manual !

the little black thing under the fillter looks like a filler cap but im sure that if u go down near the front of the radiaor you will find a plastic screw cap not that far from the earths sure thats for filling

Cheers, Will have a look for it tomorrow, Can anyone tell me what the tube at the top is for?

Also anyone know the grade of oil and capacity of the box?

the tube is just a breather.

there is a small screw plug on the front of the gearbox behind the radiator, thats your filler and your level, you fill it till it starts to drip out.

plug for draining is on the bottom of the box, same as an oil sump plug but on the gearbox. same tool to remove.

Spotted the butterfly screw earlier, And yeah got the plug 8mm square. Will get some oil and do a change. Cheers for the help
