Gear leaver trouble

My Gear leaver used to spring back to the middle when in the neutral position now it seems loose stays where ever it is left exept when moving it to the right then it springs back firmly to the middle. Any ideas whats causing this?

isnt there a spring (or 2) that pull against each other to hold the gear stick in neutral which ever way moved ? u can check this by getting under the car, that bit is visable, one prolly has broken or summat

It will be a broken spring. Easy to fix and cheap as well.

The spring fits between the base of the gear LEVER and the body.

Dead easy to do if you dont mind crawling under your Clio at this time of year!
