gear leverage and engine support!

  Clio II phase B Dynamique
Hi mates

I have a problem with change leverage of my Clio 1.4 16v ...

this is the picture of transmission leverage as you see that rubber has a very weak ..

I would like to change in some way since the shifter in 1st, 3rd and 5th fluctuates too much!

some mates of my club (clio16vclub.it) suggest me to fill the "C" part whit glass mastic!!!

or a drastic change, made it in teflon!!!

also, at least one of the engine support is broken and I have to change it but I would like to reinforce it...

someone has already made a similar modify?

Photos are welcome!

cheers, Simone

the thing you have labeled in that diagram is an engine support (we call it a 'dog-bone' mount)

If it becomes worn, and it often does, you will notice a lot of engine movement which will move the gearstick a lot as you come on and off the throttle.
You need either a new mount - or order a stiffer replacement from someone like ktec racing.

On my Pug 205, I filled in the cavities in the mount bushes with glue to make it stiffer, but you can only do something like that if the mount doesent run anywhere near the exhaust (otherwise you need heat resistant stuff.

would liek to know the answer as well

in my club there are many people who have the 1.4 and 1.6 16v that have the same problem ... a member have do all engine support and the dogbone rubber in teflon but it is very hard now and not very confortable for the normal road...

i've do the mods...

my mech coach has put some rubber in the blanks of the original support and then put the mastic around it to make thick ... now the lever does not move and does not vibrate! marches entering very better and seems accurate!
