Gear Oil. Am i correct?

First off, Merry Christmas to all

Now, got some vouchers to use in halfords so deciding to get my oils and coolant etc changed on my 172.

As for the gear oil, Am i correct in thinking i should use 3 litres of 75/90 GL4 such as comma? I have searched but seems alot of opinions on this, sticking to what the trader's/specialists say though.

also, what power steering fluid should i get and how much does that system take?

I would stick with the specificied 75W80 for gearbox.

75w/80 is the specified oil but a 75w/90 will also be fine.

Think either of the 2 will be fine but aslong as its GL4 aint it?

That's rights. A 90 is good if you go on track, bit thicker when hot

If I am regularly changing the gearbox oil, is it ok to run semi synthetic 75w90?

I bought some castrol syntrans 75/90 GL4 supposedly it replaced the smx-s?

also got some ATF D2 for the power steering.
