Gearbox - Can I Have Any

Think my box is gonna go, it normally costs loads to get done - enigne out etc. but I know a guy who used to race 16vs for Renault and he can do the job on the side of a racetrack so Im not too bothered.

Question is: I dont want another CLIO 16V box, its too long in my view and Ive heard that the 19 16V box has shorter ratios, is this true????

If so cant I fit a box from a lower spec 1.4 clio with 5 gears with a much lower ratio, would it fit, or if it did would I go through it too quickly with the power. Really want the car to rev a bit quicker.

Any ideas appreciated guys and gals.

Lastly - how much 4 a 19 16V box then???

Isnt the Willaims box shorter in the low gears amd longer in the higher ones? And its stronger.

Cheers, Simon

£200 for a box second hand. In the middle of doing this job for the second time. Can give you details if you get problems sourcing one.

Trusty old 16v ones. Got a spare in the garage that requires a diff housing thou the box housing and gears are fine.

Maybe you can use your old diff housing...?

Just a thought.

Thou if it sounds to much hard work, just contact JUST RENAULTS in walsall, or any of the renault specialist breakers in the back of the auto trader.

£200 cash will get you one (if you know what i mean)
