same sh*t happened to mine! and when i tried driving it there was a big crunching noise and loads of sparks n smoke pouring out! Had to get a new gearbox.

Thats what mine had...hole in casing. Yep new box, i went for re-con which cost around £400 fitted...exchange your old etc.

Lasted for ages, then started popping outta gear...then making crunching noise when moving...got louder and louder, then went pop.

where did u get re-con one from??

its got a hole in because last month the engine mounts went and the engine physically dropped and popped a driveshaft out, and damaged a few bits i the gearbox.

these bits have been spinning around in the gearbox for a months and they must have just flew out and smashed into the casing last nite

i mite be able to buy a phase 1 j reg valver with bad bodywork for £200 tho, just had brand new box in, so i could do that and split the rest of the car

Yeh id buy the Valver mate, take the box and break the rest, that way you should make your money back and have a nice new gearbox...oh and a 16v shell in your garden !!

lol, id keep box and phase 1 rims.

mite even swap engine over as its only dun 70k

should make my money back sellin spare engine, wings, dash, etc

and you should make the cash back on it when you break it.
