Gears/Gearbox Misbehaving

Hello guys can anyone maybe diagnose this

My Car has been playing up lately, my gears are really stiff going into 1st & 2nd gear, and it don't slot in the gears properly and make a hideous gears grinding noise :-(

It tends to be worse when I haven't used the car e.g overnight or after work

Any ideas?

It got the right amount of oil in it?

Yeah just been through MOT and was all okay

mot don't check gear oil levels

They don't check oil on an mot. Nor do they check condition or operation of gears.

Oh I see whoopsies, *embarrassed face*

Just done a check and oil is all good,

Phoned local garage and they said it could be a bearing in the gears worn, does that sound like a possibility?

You've checked the gearbox oil? Not just the engine oil?

Tbh, if i was you i would drain the gearbox oil and replace it with 3.1L of oil.

I replace mine often.
