Geek (DVD) help please!

Can someone please help my friend...?

She can't now play DVDs on her PC now, it comes up with message 'windows media player cannot play the dvd because a DVD decoder is not installed on your computer' it used to be ok but some how she thinks it has been uninstalled by some person with in her household, but everybody has gone tight lipped

She's still got all the discs that came with the PC XP home edition etc, is it possible to get it back from one of the discs does someone think please?

Just goto windowsmediaplayer.com and download the latest version. Sorted

Windows media player normally uses codecs from other dvd playing software.. like windvd etc.

If that was uninstalled its possible media player will no longer play dvd's aswell.

^^ good point, go into potions and make sure 'Download Codecs Automaticaly' is checked.
