Girls car? (mr2)

  audi a6 3.0tdi

hahaha scooby fail.

As for looks of the car i'm not bothered what it looks like if it handles well and is fast. The mx5's are a lot dearer for equivilent cars. i've looked at evos, scoobypoos and 200sx. I like light weight cars and rear wheel drive will make a nice change. I looked at vx 220's and elises but i could turbo an mr2 and spend money on handling for the same price as one of those.

IIRC there was a mid-life suspension update that made them less snappy as well.

yeah they swapped suspension in 2003 but it was only a bit of extra bracing. On the forums they say this doesn't matter if you are going to change suspension setups anyway. I'm planning on coilovers and up rated sway bars and rear cross bracing. I'm going to get it to the spec that people use for american auto x.

Do you mean the green hks specced mx5 owned by the managing director of hks europe? if so i've seen it the guy says he's got a messed up leg and can't drive it.

yeah they are slow, cost too much to insure and in standard form handle crap. only reason i considered it is the part ex value is higher.

Go for a Turbo MK1 MX-5. MK3 MR2's are anything but reliable once boosted...

I've test drove two mr2's now one was s**t but the other was great funyou could get the back end out so easily :) i also sat in a mk2 mx5 and felt too cramped up. A did drive a lads eunos import and it was fun but are the gearboxes always really stiff?

As good as the mx5's are i think i'm going to get my self an mr2 soon :)

I also think the mr2 looks better than the mx5 when its lowered. I was in the mr2 for twenty minutes and had so much fun but they engines feel very restricted so would probably need breathing mods straight away.

I want to travel to europe in it so need reliabilty and although i love mk1 mx5's i think its too old for me and what i want from it. There was an mr2 at oulton park about a week back simple breathing mods and stripped out on eibach springs and it was doing really well against other cars. I may have the chance to buy it if i can get the money together.
