Gmail IMAP set up

HELLLP!

I'm having a nightmare I can't get apple mail to send any messages

It recieves mail fine but when I want to send a message to anyone I get this error message:



I've done everything I can think of and i've followed all the instructions to a tee on the gmail website.

I'm stuck

Any suggestions?

Ring Apple. My Y! Mail frigged me about like this, and they knew about the fault and told how to fix it within 2 minutes.

Just don't ring after 5pm unless you like listening to sh*t hold music.

Not quite sure where this setting is, but do you have SSL checked in Outgoing Mail Security?

Thanks anyway guys but I ended up just deleting the account and adding it again from scratch and it seems to have soved the problem.

I'm just waiting for it to download thousands of emails now
