going lower on coilovers

  Charged Superleggera
ok basically im going to fit my coilovers next week and ws wondering if it would be safe to not use the rear adjusters and just to use the spring on its own?

A few have done it, shouldnt be a problem but just make sure that the spring is safely seated

aslong as there seated in place and not "floating" on a flat surface youll be fine mate

  Charged Superleggera
kl mate. only thing that worries me is that side that sits on the adjusters is larger in diameter and as a result the spring doesnt sit as snugly on the spring seat as teh other end if that makes sense lol

whats the helper platform mate? is that the same as the spring seat ie teh rubber bits that teh springs sit on?

ive taken mine out,
i think i know what your on about, but ive had mine like that for a a coupla months, and the springs are staying nice and in place

Ok in this picture, the red things circled you should have those? Or something similar

There are two locking rings, you need the one thats on top as thats what the springs sit on, the bottom one i got rid of and just put the platform ring right to the bottom.

yeh ive got them mate. i know what you mean now but do you think i could leave the whole ring out ie just use the spring? or would you think its best to kepp the bottom ring in for safety?

Can you fit shorter springs to the front so that you can wind the coilover up?
Thus taking the slack when jacking up the car and giving a better rebound

Just to bump this thread, has anyone ran their coilies without the rear platforms/adjusters, i.e. just using the springs?

I have removed the helper platform/o ring, but thinking of going a little lower lol.

Cheers

Thats my only worry, just been searching though and this thread came up.

Has anybody run their car without them that can shed any light?

  Charged Superleggera
yeh a few but wouldnt recommend it after looking into doing it myself. the spring moves about too much for my liking without the platforms. much better off getting custom springs made mate

Exactly what I thought, will probably get under the car and see for myself at some point this week though lol.
