Golf 1.8t Engine oil (High Mileage) *Norm?*

Whats the best oil to be using?

Gonna give it a quick change thru the week!

if its on the longlife servicing, its either 0w30 or 5w30 thats to vw's spec, if it is on time and distance (lamens speak normal 10k/1 year servicing) then its a 10w40 semi synthetic, exactly what depends from dealer to dealer, let me know if you need any more info chap i work for VW

then its officially a 10w40 semi, we use magnatec, and used to use shell, so down to personal preference matey :) though if the engine is in good health i might drop to a 5w40 in this weather

stuck 10w40 magnatex in it yesterday!! running very well @ the moment!!

Done the clutch too!!

give it regular oil changes mate (more regular than reccomended)

i like using engine flush on them too, i've done so many oil pumps on those engines the strainer blocks up..

problem being it can kill the turbo before you have noticed the oil pressure warning on the dash

10/40 is fine for them
