Golf VR6 race

lol dogmaul im sure tis a big conspiracy that every vw owner foesnt report faults.
sorry im a veedub owner thought id add my 2p while i pass through.
at the end of the day vws are renound for being very reliable for an old car (mk2 and mk1 etc), but the later models arnt holding up so much to that title.
cleos are nice cars and the 172 is quick so ive heared but they are a completely different type of car to my 16 jetta of a gold, golfs are squarer older and were made for a different market, for an old golf to keep up with a brand new engeneered car is quite a feat on engineering if you ask me.
the vr6 is known to be heavy especially on corners and wont handle as well as a clio, but was it built to? the answer is no the vr6 was built for the meetign people comfort and speed in one, a cleo was built to be really nippy and the 172 was built especially for being fast.
strip out a vr6 and stick it on coilovers you will have great handling ability and straight line speed will out run a clio its just physics.
there is the case that alot of vr6s have been ragged and therfore are not quite up to scratch with the newer engine dont know if this is true or not tho.
my 16v is quick enough for me got it last year when i was 18 and the nova boys couldnt keep up and i did beet a 306 xsi 2.0 but he might not have been the best driver in the world lol
half the people in vedubs started out in reaults anyway and i love that v6 mmmmmmm sucj i nice looking car. the only pug i dont like is the 106 cause they seem to be everywhere and nova boys are getting here hands on them

its like tvrs are always supposed to break down but they dont all do it and they are getting better at it. dont get me wrong i like the vr6 as a car but it just does not do it for me and as for the 4 motion lol
what i like is the gti since it was first born it has more than doubled in weight and only gron by a few bhp all in all it just adds up to a very over weight under powered car give me a mk1 gti any day

Ermm... my valvers 10 years old has a steering wheel that I presume inspired the momo jobs that people spend money on today, some of the most comfortable and supportive leather seats I have ever had the pleasure to sit in, chunky gear knob, more dials than you can shake a stick at - pretty much everything that people spend money my car has as standard bar air-con!

lol look at the mk1 golf tho gti 8v has trip computer calculating mpg outside temp oil temp average milage average speed and a few other settings plus a mpg indicator in the dash.
i think thats pretty pioneering for a car of its class
and the mk2 has all that plus leccy leather recaros leccy windows leccy mirrors leccy sunroof alloys as standard (on gti models) again not somthing you got on other cars. bee sting areal they were standard most people put them on there cars these days.
you cant say vw havnt been at the forefront of new stuff either lol

lol! well its finished now so i put the steering wheel back hehe unfortuanately dont have any pics to post up yet but ill get some soon.
i dont think that ford would have a bigger following than vw yes more cars are bought by poeple in ford, but i think they buy them for the car not cause they have always bought fords and they are ford enthusiasts, i think alot of the vws that are bought are for enthusiasts, i mean club gti is the biggest car owners club in the country including ford owners clubs etc.
