Good Buy?

  GW Clio 200
Hi guys,

I'm looking for a clio got upto 5k,

I understand the 182 has twin exhaust and is slightly lower and wider + 10bhp, but am i going to gain a massive benefit by trying to find one for a good price?

Found a 172 for what looks to be a ok price, any ideas?

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...cleYearOfManufacture=2004&vehicleRegLetter=53

Some help would be much appreciated as i dont know what common faults and servicing is need etc.

I have read somewhere that 36k is a big service?

Many thanks!

James

A 182 for under £5k won't be the best example, I'd look at a 172 because you can find a good one at that price!

The silver one you posted is exactly the same mileage and year of the flame red 172 I just bought from Renault - I had the belts done on top of other things so make sure that's done as it'll be due soon!

Yeah I'm thinking 172, how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?
I'm looking for either silver red or dark blue, any suggestions?

Thanks

I'd go for a 172, you can pick up a good example for next to nothing nowadays.

Have you had a look in the cars for sale section? peperami's cup looks like a good buy tbh.

I paid just over £5k, which I think is paying over the odds but it came with everything done upto date. Belts, new tyres and pads all around, along with a years worth of Renault warranty.

It's only had one owner from new, 32k on the clock and has a FRSH so I'm happy with it and I guess that's the main thing!

I'd obviously say flame red, but monaco blue is nice too! If you're getting a cup I believe it's arctic blue but I could be mistaking that for the 182 colour. That's a lovely colour whatever it's called!

Silver is nice, but at the end of the day it's just that. It's easy to keep clean though and coupled with some anthracite wheels looks the business! :)

You can get a good 182 for 5k. The look better !!!

Mine was £4250.

Need a few bits doing ie headlight washers and TDC sensor which I have done myself but other than that its awesome!

Its a buyers market so i would look around for a 182!!

Beg too differ!

At the minute there's some minters to be had, The RB182 thats on here for £4950 for example.... 39k miles iirc

And WELL looked after

Fair enough, I wasn't saying you couldn't get one just it wouldn't be the best you could get at that price. I went for the 172 for this reason as I like to be spending nearer the top end of the spectrum to get the lower mileage/latest registered of a certain model, other than the dog of the next one up!

Plus iirc the 182 for sale is the cup so not fully specced? Still very nice though!

But if you can pick them up for as little as £4-5k now happy days! :)
