Think it was BRUN who said switch the backs off, well anyway was a bit wierd at first but wow how much more defined and "in place" do they sound!

cheers matey! ;)

ANYWAY... i really need some decent components now as the renault tea bags just aint upto scratch!

Suggestions at the ready please! although id like to know could i get a decent ish set for around £100-120? might get em in Feb for my birthday...

Oh one more thing - wouldnt it sound poo for passengers if i had a mini sub in the boot and front speakers? would they just get all the bass?

I know my stuff home wise but not really upto scratch car audio wise so any help is very much thanked!

And while im here lol can you use the old rear speakers to attach a mini sub too? i know theyre crap but theyre there and do you think id need one if i had decent components?

Cheers

Hi mate. I have got 5 Fusions in the front of my Cup. I run these with just the 10 Infinity Sub. Sound is fantastic, but I run a 4 chan amp with the whole set up. Fusions are in your price bracket, I replaced a set of infinities with them.

howdy matey, did you run new cables to the sub or is the amp in the boot? if i did get an amp i think id put it under the seat - kinda not bothered about an amp i dont think but could look into one - just took eveything out i dont need dont want to add weight now do i! heh

Daz,

The sub only has one speaker cable linked directly to the amp. The music gets to the amp and the sub by a twin phono cable (the same type of cable that links hifi seporates together).

The amp needs power, which a direct feed from the battary with an inline fuse. This cable needs to ran to the amp seporatly from the rest of your cables. These other cables consist of a remote (which turns the amp on when you turn you head unit on) and an earth. This whole amp wiring kit is about £30.

oh so its not too unlike home then! i know my stuff on home i worked in the trade when i was a youngster - dont ever drop a £2k valve amp.. the boss doesnt like it lol!

is it better to run the comps off the headunit then to seperate the system or would it be more beneficial to power them from the amp? assuming the amps bettter than the heads internal amp?

ten times better from the amp mate.

You will need an amp for the sub any way (sub uses 2 chanels), so you may as well buy a 4 chanel amp and run your fronts off it as well. Especially if you plan to have no back speakers like me.
