Good deal methinks

Just been to look a Mk2 172. Its a 2001 flame red, 1 lady owner (swapped it for a 206cc). The good thing is that its only done 8000 miles in 3 years and its in MINT condition. The guy wants £9995 for it.

Good deal?
Oh, and hes gonna give me £4250 for my car

it only comes with the dealers 6 month sh*tty warranty but he says that "if it goes wrong well fix it, nomatter what"

I aint agreed nothin cos i though it would ask you lot first! how much should i be paying for one like this then chaps?

Mate, This sound like a nice car but total rip-off.

I got a brand new one at Motorpoint.co.uk for £10,600 about 6 months ago. They are still selling them. Sell yours car private and get down there. You get 2 years warrenty then.

For idea of prices autotrader.co.uk is good. For this I would only pay approx £8658.32 pence :)

I only paid £8800 for an 02 MKII 172 with 9730 miles on the clock so £9995 is very pricey to be honest, especially for the age.

lol @ mike

lookin at that table above, it says £8325 from a dealer with 30k on the clock. This one only has 8k so it will be worth more yeah?

You can get them brand new for a little more so I wouldnt pay that for a 3 year old one, never mind the mileage.

poor fubar, thought he had a good deal! came on here and every1 has pissed on his dream! ;) lol
yeah damn straight! :devilish: ill have to keep lookin now!

what should i be aiming for money wise on, say.... a Mk2 172 "52" reg?

My local dealership in Chester has a 52 2002 172 for £10k offered me £5.7 for me car (£5.7k trade price but mine has 28k instaed of 20k book price)and I would have had a new 36k service and tax trown in the deal. It had 30k on the clock.

I wouldnt go with a older low milesgae car after seeing what the department car is like with just 36k on a R reg as the short runs have killed the car.

yeh id say to the guy.. "ure price is way too high, and ive seen other cars of this age for £8299, but with milages of around 20k. ill offer u £8599."

if he says no way, say, ok thanks for yor help, sorry we cudnt make a deal, and then walk off quite slowly.

(make sure that he has ure no. b4 u strike a deal, so that he can ring u up begging for that price... it always works, especially at the end of the the month as they have to fill their quotas)

hope ^this^ helps
