Good Socket Set?

After Day helped destroy my current cheapo socket set (;)) im wanting to get a fairly good one with both 1/4 and 1/2 inch drive ratchets.

Whats the Draper Expert range like quality wise? Some use a "Vortex" system instead of a square drive, is this worth it?

halfords are good, i buy them because of the lifetime warranty i have had 3 breaker bars 2 13mm ratchet spanners 1 10mm and a 30 mm deep socket all replaced no questions asked, not being funny but the snap on man will just laugh at me

^^exactly, and to be fair the quality of there tools is pretty good, just the branding that will put some off, but the quality and price you really can't go wrong

its only the halfords professional range that carry the lifetime gaurantee isnt it?

what did you do, walk into the store and ask for a replacement or send it off?

Get snap on, my old man is a dealer, their stuff is the shizzle, pricey but v good!

get me stuff cheap then, it needs to be 90% off with the price of snap on!

Halfords Professional range is looking good so far then...

I'm another Halford Professional fan - this range of tools changed my view of Halfords - I wouldn't shop there otherwise.
I've had problems with Draper Expert ratchets, so probably not good.
I also have a lot of Britool stuff. This is probably the best, and in between Halfords and Snap-On in terms of price. Not easy to find though - but worth it. Facom stuff will also last a long time. And they're French!....

BTW, whatever happened to King Dick? Now there's a quality tool !!!
